I still vividly remember my very first full-time job interview. I was aiming for a position for which I (on paper) lacked five years of experience. I'd spent the night poring over the content, but I couldn't get past the first round. According to the recruiter, I lacked the persuasiveness and professionalism appropriate for the position.
I asked for a second chance. While I'd focused entirely on the content the previous time, this time I focused on my appearance. Dressed in a nice suit, I confidently entered the room once again. The result? Out of over 100 candidates, I got the job.
It wasn't the suit that made the difference, but the feeling it gave me and the impression I managed to make. I radiated a confidence and strength that was immediately noticeable.
